McGruff's Kids Files: Tobacco DVD is a great Tobacco Prevention program for Great American Smoke-Out or Red Ribbon Week

McGruff The Crime Dog and his teenage friend Jason utilize interviews with health experts and smokers to help students discover some "burning issues" about tobacco use.  Covers tobacco's addictive properties, the harmful chemicals it contains, and its role in causing such illnesses as cancer, emphysema and heart disease.  Students learn that smoking stains teeth and fingers, causes bad breath, and ages the appearance of skin.  Information is presented on how cigarette advertisers target young people in their ads and the dangers of secondhand smoke.  Grades 4-8
