Students will learn cooperation,impulse control, problem solving, reading body language, coping skills, positive self-talk, and interaction skills * Reflects the five areas of emotional intelligence:
(1) Self-awareness – the ability to recognize one’s own emotions, thoughts and values, as well as the ability to recognize the impact of those emotions, thoughts and values
(2) Mood management – the ability to regulate emotions and lessen internal conflict in order to adapt to changing circumstances
(3) Self-motivation – the ability to utilize emotions to achieve goals
(4) Empathy – the ability to read, understand, and respond appropriately to others’ emotions, and
(5) Relationship skills – the ability to listen to and support others, to manage conflict, and to communicate and cooperate with others
