Project Alcohol Free Grades 7-8 Curriculum is an effective program that is great for Red Ribbon Week or Alcohol Prevention Program

Revised for 2006.  Rationale for this program: There is a strong need to belong.  They're reasily controlled by others. Risk-takers, quick to accept dares.  Greatly expanded social opportunities.  Want to be independent to make decisions.  Need instruction and support of adults to develop values and beliefs about drug use.  What Does the Curriculum Cover?  Decision-making, problem-solving, peer refusal skills.  How alcohol affects the body.  Hard liquor, binge drinking and growing up.  Alcohol addiction.  Responsibility to community and society.  Identify and assess the credibility of media messages.  Future implications of decisions made today.  Fetal Alcohol Syndrome.  Establish goals for the future.  Additional resources, teacher evaluations, much more. Great for Red Ribbon Week or any Alcohol Prevention campaign.
