Project Drug Free Grades 7-8 Curriculum is an effective program that is great for Red Ribbon Week

Rationale for this program: There is a strong need to belong. They are easily controlled by others. Risk-takers, quick to accept dares. Greatly expanded social opportunities. Want to be independent to make decisions. Need instruction & support of adults to develop values & beliefs about drug use.  What Does the Curriculum Cover?  Decision-making, problem-solving, peer refusal skills.  How drugs affect the body.  Consequences of illegal drug use.  Importance of family.  Responsibility to community and society.  Easing and anger control  Identify and assess the credibility of media messages.  Future implications of decisions made today.  Establish goals for the future.  Additional resources, teacher evaluations, much more. Great curriculum for Red Ribbon Week.
